01 - The reunion

On 6 July 2014, Kendriya Vidyalaya had successfully completed 60 years since inception. The ex -students met at the school premises for of re-union. They met their professors, took one last look at their classrooms and decided to have dinner together at their favourite eating joint. The table occupied by the ex-students was full of jokes, merriment, nostalgia, happiness and excitement.

It was 10 years after their SSC, everyone at the table were back to 2006 – last year of school. They recalled their school day pranks. Everything under the sun about their school days were discussed; be it the maths teacher who always fell prey to the students pranks, the strict history teacher popularly known amongst the batch of 2006 as Hitler, the journey back home from school, the famous lassiwala near the school who quenched their thirst, the yummy mouthwatering vada pav thela on the way from station to school, sports events, their respective houses, head boys head girls, the first and last one night stay picnic to Lonavala, school day crushes and relationships. It felt like everyone was 15 and back in school.

Then was the talk about the present, career choices, education, and current love-life. There was a couple who were dating since school days for almost a decade. Each one at the table was all praises for them; 10 years and still going steady. Except for a few guys the rest of the clan was committed.

Ditto was the case with the girls present at the table except for Dhara. Dhara was the pleasantly plump, bubbly tomboy who was busy cracking jokes and hurling abuses like guys not caring about what people think. The same girl, who was a geeky studious nerd during school times; wearing round glasses with short hair and carrying a bag bigger than her size. Both her best friends from school were seated on each of her side. For starters, she had planned to skip the re-union all together cause she felt she never fit in there. Had it not been for her two lovely ladies she would not have been here at all.

All the single guys were jokingly flirting with Dhara (as she was the only single chic on the table). One amongst them at the table was Vivaan, the bad boy of their batch with the good heart. Jokingly Vivaan smirked and told the other guys, 'Stay away from this one; she is my girlfriend.’ Dhara chuckled listening to Vivaan and played along, pretending to be his girlfriend. The day ended on a beautiful note, full of nostalgia, memories and happiness for everyone present. The batch of 2006 decided to meet at-least once a year. Little did Vivaan and Dhara knew what awaited them. :)
